Very sweet

Kurta packs food orders of which are in increasing demand since the sickness that has meant everyone has had to stay inside started. She enjoys imagining who the random order numbers belong to and what their lives must be like to help her get through the day but one day when she comes face to face with one of her customers who is very shy, Kurta has to decide whether she should act on her feelings or not.

A simple, sweet, short novella that eludes to life during the pandemic and what it was like for those working in retail environments and those that had to stay home. We get a good insight into how lonely some work can be and what Kurta does to pass the time is imaginative and almost magical when she finally does meet the customer she has been particularly intrigued by.

I enjoyed the contrast between the characters’ lives and their similar personalities as they were both shy but extravagant people. Kurta more mentally and the woman she falls for in a more public way. They had a very sweet connection.

An enjoyable story with lots of relatable and hopeful moments that were wonderfully imaginative and different in a magical kind of way.
